Brave little Erin handled it well when she met Dr. Who and one of the dreaded Darleks. As far as we know, neither Erin nor Karen were exterminated!!!!

Macclesfield Family Fun Day

23rd August 2009

The Top Lodge Dancing Dogs were invited to entertain at West Park, Macclesfield for the Fun Day. The park was full of side stalls, trade stands and the two performance arenas were very close to each other.

Karen and Fly started the entertainment with a Heelwork to Music Routine to "Hernando's Hideaway". The crowds started gathering as soon as they realised the "Dog Dancing" had started.

Although it wasn't too sunny, the crowds were able to sit on the grass to watch the routines.
Lesley and Angus entertained with their routine to "There Ain't Nothing Like a Dame" showing his Beardie Bounce!
The crowds continued to grow! And a quieter moment in Angus' routine.
Then Kath and Spice with "Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines". The show was the noisiest that the team had been invited to! With many loud explosions, simulated gun fire and what seemed to be hundreds of motor cycle performances in the adjacent arena!
The Top Lodge dogs were wonderful as they performed immaculately despite the added distractions.
The show continued with Karen and Fly performing to "Roxie" - at last a show with weather and ground good enough for wearing full costume including shoes!
The crowd loved the routine.
Tipp and Kath entertaining with Seaside Rendezvous - Tipp loves this routine.
Happy Tipp despite the surrounding noise!
Karen and Fly then invited many children into the ring to see if they could "Beat The Dog". Karen would give Fly a command and the children had to try and mimic the move faster! And no - they couldn't!
What well behaved children!
Lesley and Angus with The Farmer and the Cowman. This is one of Angus' favourite routines.
Up and Over! The Beardie coat flowing well in his jumps!
Karen took to the ring with Erin to show some of the basic moves and how we train the dogs. Erin is just loosing her puppy teeth so her focus on Karen at this young is great.
Erin following the hand with no food in!
Lesley and Angus performing to The Beautiful Briney - for once the weather stayed dry as they performed as if swimming in the Briney Sea!
Kath and Spice - "If I Only Had A Brain" the audience seemed settled to sit and watch the Dog Dancing for the whole day! Some had brought seats along to reserve their places!
Spice's ears were in full flow!
Jez Avery was enteratining in the other Arena
But in the Dog Dancing Arena, The Black Eagles displayed their strength and athletism which was astounding.

And also The Curious Eyebrows. A very entertaining duo - very skillful in many ways. What a poser!!!! :-)

Kath Entertaining at a Wedding

The Wedding of Don Ward and Tammy Tipper, 21st August 2009, Cambridge

Tammy contacted Kath a couple of months ago as she was organising her wedding which was "Border Collie" themed! They had rescued a BC from Wiccaweys BC Rescue and also wanted to raise funds for the Charity so she was wanting a Border Collie to entertain before the evening reception. This was Kath's first Dog Dancing Display at a wedding!

The Felix Hotel and the area for the Dog Dancing display by Kath with Tipp, Amber and Spice. Three routines back to back with costume changes in between. David helped Kath by being her DJ!

The guests gathered after their meal and on with the show - Tipp with Seaside Rendezvous.
Quick change in costume and then it was Amber's turn to entertain with Dean Martin's Sway
Another change - and on went the show - Spice this time with Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines.
A photo session followed with "Mr and Mrs Don Ward".
More guests wanting to stroke the dogs and congratulate Kath on a very full programme.
The complients were flowing - most had never seen "dog dancing" before and they were amazed at the agility and keeness of the dogs.
After a swift drink, the dogs had their dinners and they left for the journey back home.
Thank you Don and Tammy for inviting Kath, Tipp, Spice and Amber to entertain - they hope they helped raise those much needed funds!

Blackpool

Kath and Lesley went to Blackpool yesterday to enter Fylde K9 Dancers' HTM competition. Lesley and Angus placed 4th in Advanced HTM and 1st in Adv. Freestyle.

Angus is now qualified for the Crufts Semi Finals in both HTM and Freestyle.

Amber has only just won her way up to Advanced Freestyle and it was her first time out in that class. She still did a great job though and placed 3rd, which means that she has also qualified for both HTM and Freestyle at the Semi Finals.

The Ashover Show

Top Lodge were very pleased to be invited to entertain at Ashover Show in Derbyshire for the second year running.

Following a wet start to the day, the sun burst through mid-morning to give the crowds and the performers a wonderful day out in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

Baby Erin opened the Trio's performance by demonstrating how the dogs are trained and how the moves are taught.

The other dogs came in too and showed some of their moves and the training techniques. This is Hamish demonstrating a nice high jump.

The dancing dogs gathered a huge and appreciative audience.

Tipp performing his Freestyle Routine to Queen's 'Seaside Rendezvous'.

Kath and Spice entertaining with their Crufts winning routine 'If I Only Had a Brain'.

Karen and Kes impersonating Sally Bowles in Cabaret!

Lesley and Angus 'There is Nothing Like a Dame'.

And Kath with Amber swaying their way through Dean Martin's 'Sway'.

A high jumping Angus performing to 'The Beautiful Briny'.

Karen and Fly showing Heelwork To Music to 'Roxie' from the musical 'Chicago'.

Flying Spice performing to 'Those Magnificent Men...'.

After the demonstrations, the children in the audience were invited into the ring to compete against Fly in a game of 'Beat The Dog'.
Karen and Fly would demonstrate a move...

- And then the children had to try if they could perform it faster than her.
Of course everyone who knows Fly will realise that no one can perform a move faster than her! :oD

There was time to watch the Companion Dog Show too...

And for little Erin to get around and experience the atmosphere. It was great socialisation.
